Wynn Orders Stop of Routine Requests for Detailed Cost Data
Principle Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Technology Michael Wynn October 2 told military service and defense agency procurement executives to “stop requiring contractors to submit detailed cost information as part of the billing process.” It is common practice for many COs to routinely require detailed cost data for processing cost reimbursement, time and materials and labor hour contract vouchers. The Wynn memo states the data is either not used or is inappropriately used to perform cost analysis tasks that are the responsibility of DCAA.
