NEW DEVELOPMENTS: NASA Extends Mentor-Protégé Program
NASA proposes to revise its NASA FAR Supplement to update procedures for NASA’s Mentor-Protégé program. Under the program, eligible entities approved as mentors will enter into mentor-protégé agreements with eligible protégés to provide appropriate developmental assistance to enhance capabilities of protégés to perform as subcontractors and suppliers. The changes are intended to streamline the program, align the mentors with technical skills and expand the program to include small disadvantaged businesses, women-owned and small businesses, HUB Zone small business, veteran-owned and service-disabled veteran owned small businesses, historically black colleges and universities, minority institutions of higher learning and NASA Small Business SBIR Phase ll small businesses. There will also be award fee incentives (Fed. Reg. 54340).
